Gaby Aghion, originally from Egypt, first came to Paris in 1945, and in 1952 she founded the company Chloe, releasing a modest collection of dresses.
The early admirers of this brand could be attributed to Maria Callas and Grace Kelly. Young designer Karl Lagerfeld, who managed to work only a year with Jean Patou, in 1966 was designated creative director of Chloe. In the late 1960s and 1970s, Chloe’s brand was very successful and flourishing. The Chloe brand was reborn only with the arrival of Stella McCartney in 1997. McCartney has brought the spirit of rock’n’roll culture into the brand and in combination with the Parisian legacy of Chloe, this led to the emergence of a new, up-to-date style. The position of the company was further strengthened when Chloe’s clothes were worn by McCarnie’s girlfriends, such as Madonna, Kate Moss, Cameron Diaz. Since 2001, the trademark brand Chloe has become classic sweaters and sexy pants.
